Well I awoke this morning to find my blue linkia star melting off the rocks. It looks like he lost his insides and was dead. I really liked this star and am very disappointed. I am going to do some research and look into this death a bit closer as I would like to add another in the future.
I spoke to the guys at my Local Fish Store. He was fairly certain the star just died. They just do that. Very hard to keep a blue. He suggested an orange, purple or maroon star. The colors indicate a different species and are much easier to keep. He assured me it was nothing I did (or didn't do) that killed him. This set me at ease and I look forward to trying again.
Welcome to the reef tank experience. I am setting this up to track my new reef and share what happens with everyone. Check back often to see what is happening at reef central.
Photo Page has been set up. I know it took a little while but I will try to keep up as best I can. In other news I have someone to come by and take some professional photos of the tank soon! Can't wait as I have not had good luck with photos in low light or with the actinics.
Here is what I am going to use to post photos. This link should get you to a page with an rss feed that will update when I change the photos. If you have a mac it will load right into iphoto.
If not copy and paste this link: http://photocast.mac.com/werksdesign/iPhoto/aquaracast/index.rss into your browser or rss reader. You can also download the photos here for your own use.
Current Residents
I have put several lists below with my renters. I will try to update the lists as I add/remove inabitants. If you click on the name it will take you to either Saltwaterfish.com or LiveAquaria.com where you can take a closer look at each species.
